February 19 - Sea Day
As per usual, we took about four naps and did our best to start a relaxing trip. We made sure to visit the thermal suite and found it pretty empty during the middle of the day.  We also enjoyed the new flat screen TV in the cabin with on demand content. We watched the first of several movies that evening. We also went to the dining room for dinner and had the best hazelnut and chocolate dessert.

February 20 - Cabo San Lucas
We weren't supposed to arrive in Cabo until about noon so we slept in and then went to the buffet for breakfast. We decided to go to the thermal suite around 10 am and almost missed arriving in Cabo. We did get to see the El Arco from the Pacific side and took many pictures as we anchored  off of Cabo. Our whale watching tour wasn't until 3:00 pm so we had plenty of time for lunch. We took a tender to the port around 1:00 pm which gave us plenty of time to find the Whale Watch Cabo office. We each enjoyed a filled churro (mine with chocolate and Eric's with caramel) before the whale watching tour.

We went out on the water with Whale Watch Cabo in 2016. They have small boats that are covered and includes a tour guide who is also a scientist and very knowledgeable. After seeing  El Arco (up close), we headed out into the open ocean. Within 15 minutes we saw our first of many humpback whales. Towards the end of the tour, we saw a whale that was coming up right beside another boat that was smaller than ours. There were many flipper slaps and flukes as the humpbacks dove. We had such a great time, we decided to book another tour for the next morning.

We missed the sunset because we were walking back to the port but enjoyed a nice tender ride back to the ship, which was lit up for the evening.  We quickly changed and went to dinner and oddly enough, were seated with the same people we sat with on the tender ride.

Unfortunately, we kind of wasted our first over-night in Cabo by staying on the ship and watching a movie.  We had to get up early for morning whale watching!

February 21 - Cabo San Lucas
We got up early to eat a light breakfast and then headed down for a tender boat. We had to wait about 10 minutes because we were the only crazy people headed to the port at 7 am. It was the local tender so they ended up taking just the two of us. It was a very quiet walk (about 20 minutes)  to the Whale Watch Cabo office. There weren't any vendors trying to sell tours. It was a cool morning and I was glad I had a rain coat to put over my life vest once we headed out onto the ocean.

This morning we had an amazing tour guide who gave us some great lessons on mammals in general and humpback whales specifically.  We went back to El Arco and saw many sea lions. Two looked all lovey but were really fighting each other to get up on the rocks with the other sea lions.

We saw several mothers and babies this morning. The highlight was at the very end, I heard a noise and asked the tour guide about it. She quickly realized it was a whale beneath our boat singing to us! It was amazing. I loved how excited the tour guide was about it. She is out there probably seven days a week and about 2-3 times each day and she was still thrilled to hear the whale singing. Everyone (almost) on the boat rushed over to one side to see if they could see the whale; cautious me and another lady stayed on the other side since we were afraid the boat might tip over :)!

After the morning tour, we walked around a bit and then headed back to the ship for a relaxing afternoon onboard before sail away at 5 pm.

During sail away, we watched for more whales from the upper promenade area on deck 8. I think there were only 2-3 other couples in the area and it's a great place to watch for marine life.

We had dinner in the buffet tonight. It was good and sometimes it's just easier than a formal dinner. We grabbed a couple desserts and then watched another movie in the cabin.
